Chalkboard + Parties = Hot Design Trend!
Jump on the bandwagon! It's fun and easy with these simple steps.
1 small plastic container with lid
Plastic fork for stirring
Acrylic Paint (ANY COLOR!)
Unsanded Grout (Hardware Store, under $2)
Dollar Store or Thrift Store tray
Bistro Chalk Marker
In plastic container, stir until mixed 1 Tbsp Unsanded Grout + 1/2 C Acrylic Paint with plastic fork.
Using a sponge brush, apply 3-5 coats of paint to front side of tray. Allow to dry 5-10 minutes between coats and 1 hour after final coat.
Place lid on chalk paint to save for when you want to refresh your chalkboard surface.
To prime your chalkboard, using the side of a piece of chalk, rub a generous layer over entire surface of tray.
Remove excess chalk from tray using a dry paper towel.
Using a piece of chalk or a Bistro Chalk Marker, write your message!
When you want to change your message, remember to prime the chalkboard again between messages, especially if using a Chalk Marker.
Reapply a coat of chalk paint when you want to refresh your surface.
